Our Story

In 2021 in the seaside town of Youghal, Boardwalk Coffee, began as a dream shared by me, Ger Flanagan and my son, Ray Flanagan, fellow coffee enthusiast. We collaborated with the talented coffee roaster, Matteo Colaci. Passionate about the art of coffee, we made a brave decision that set the foundation for the company: prioritising quality over quantity.

Despite the market being flooded with mass-produced coffee, we made a brave decision to prioritise the rich, nuanced flavours that could only be achieved by roasting small, meticulously curated batches. We invested in a basic, yet reliable roasting machine and started experimenting with tiny batches, perfecting our craft with each roast.

As word spread about the flavour and integrity of Boardwalk Coffee, the company attracted a loyal following. Customers appreciated not only the superior taste but also the story behind each cup. The dedication to our craft and our unwavering commitment to quality resonated deeply with those who valued authenticity and excellence in their coffee experience. Despite the challenges of growing a business with such a focused approach, Boardwalk Coffee thrived.

Having invested in a new, more efficient and consistent roasting machine, we continue to honour our roots, roasting each batch with the same care and passion that sparked our journey.
